Giveaways

Create a giveaway, manage participation and safely end or reroll the result.

One giveaway, shared between Discord and dashboard

The Giveaway Manager shows the current or most recent giveaway for the selected server, including prize, host, channel, participants, winner count, ending time, status and message ID. The host field displays a Discord name, or Unknown User if it cannot be resolved.

A server can have one active giveaway at a time. Dashboard actions are completed by the bot; a waiting state is expected while the action is being processed.

Create a giveaway

  1. Open Giveaways in the server workspace and choose Create Giveaway.
  2. Enter the prize and select a real text channel from the channel dropdown.
  3. Set a duration and the number of winners.
  4. Submit the form and wait for the bot to publish the giveaway in Discord.
  5. Confirm the message and active status before inviting members to participate.

Dashboard input limits

FieldAccepted values
PrizeNon-empty text, up to 256 characters.
Duration10 seconds to 30 days. Use s, m, h or d, such as 10m, 1h, 1d or 1h30m.
Number of winnersA whole number from 1 to 100.
ChannelAn existing text channel belonging to the selected server.

The bot must be able to post in the chosen channel. The command reference explains Discord command requirements separately.

Participation and winner selection

Members use the giveaway message’s buttons to join, leave and inspect participants. A participant is not added twice. When the giveaway ends, winners are randomly selected from its recorded participants, up to the requested winner count. If fewer people entered, the number selected cannot exceed the number of participants.

With no participants, there is no winner. The bot also checks participants who have left the server; do not assume leaving a server keeps an entry eligible indefinitely.

End Now and Reroll

Choose Manage to inspect the giveaway. End Now opens a confirmation and selects the result immediately when confirmed. Reroll is available for an ended giveaway and draws a new selection using its participants. The new result replaces the previous winner selection; it does not guarantee every winner will be different.

Cancel closes either confirmation without requesting the action. An active giveaway must be ended before rerolling another result. Wait for a pending action to finish before attempting a second one.

If an action does not complete

Check that SHADO5 is online, the giveaway channel still exists and the original message remains accessible. An active or pending giveaway can block creation of another. A deleted message or an uncertain action needs inspection before retrying.

The dashboard and Discord use the same giveaway records. Reloading the page does not create a new giveaway or reset its participants.
