Anti-Words
Filter configured words in new and edited messages, with optional role exemptions and logs.
Filter unwanted language
Anti-Words checks new and edited messages against a blacklist. Matching is case-insensitive and looks for configured text anywhere within the message, including inside longer words. Matching messages are deleted and the member can receive a 30-minute timeout.
Bot messages and members holding the permitted role are ignored. This is a literal text filter, not a contextual language classifier or configurable regex engine.
Build a careful blacklist
- Open Dashboard, select your server and choose Anti-Words under Protection.
- Enter comma-separated words or phrases. Select an optional log channel and permitted role.
- Use Enable & Save for a disabled module, or save changes for an enabled module.
- Wait for confirmation and check the module status before testing.
Begin with a short list and test with a non-exempt account. Entries are trimmed and normalized to lowercase. Avoid fragments that also occur in harmless words.
Available settings
| Setting | Behavior |
|---|---|
| Log Channel | Optional destination for violation reports. Allow View Channel, Send Messages and Embed Links. |
| Blacklisted words (separated by commas) | Text to detect. An empty list matches nothing even if the module is enabled. |
| Permitted role (excluded) | Members with this role bypass the filter. |
Discord command
/antiwords status:on blacklisted_words:blocked phrase,another phrase
/antiwords status:offThe caller needs Administrator. status is required; blacklisted_words, log_channel and allowed_role are optional. Enabling replaces these options; omitted values become an empty list or no channel/role. No vote is required.
Check deletion and timeout permissions
Check the saved blacklist, the permitted role and Manage Messages in the affected channel. Moderate Members is needed for timeouts, and Discord prevents timing out protected or higher-ranking members. Enabling does not remove historical messages.
A successful message deletion does not by itself establish that Discord accepted the timeout. Check both permissions and the log channel when moderation appears incomplete.
