Verification
Configure the CAPTCHA message, verified role and logging, with three attempts and a 90-second total time limit.
CAPTCHA verification with a role
Verify publishes a message with a CAPTCHA button in your chosen channel. A member clicks it, receives a numeric CAPTCHA by direct message and replies to SHADO5 with the code. A correct answer grants the Verified Role.
This version uses this CAPTCHA flow, not email, phone, website-based or reaction-only verification. Set appropriate channel permissions for the Verified Role in Discord: a role only unlocks what your server allows.
Configure verification
- Open Dashboard, select your server and choose Verify under Protection.
- Select Verify Channel, Verified Role and Log Channel, then complete the vote check.
- Use Enable & Save for a disabled module, or save changes for an enabled module.
- Wait for confirmation and check the module status before testing.
The role must be below SHADO5, assignable by it and not managed by an integration. The bot needs Manage Roles and access to send the entry message and logs. The setup command checks Administrator for the bot.
Wait for Verify synchronized. before testing. Moving or disabling Verify updates or removes the existing entry message. A pending synchronization should be allowed to complete before further changes.
Available settings
| Setting | Behavior |
|---|---|
| Verify Channel | Where the public CAPTCHA entry message is published. New, unverified members must be able to reach it. |
| Verified Role | Role granted after success. Configure its Discord channel access and keep it below SHADO5. |
| Log Channel | Receives verification events. Restrict it to your moderation team and allow SHADO5 to send embeds. |
Complete a CAPTCHA
- Click CAPTCHA in the configured server channel.
- Open SHADO5’s DM and read the six-digit code.
- Reply with the exact code in the DM, not the public channel.
- After success, return to the server and check your role.
You have three attempts within one total limit of 90 seconds. Wrong answers reduce the remaining attempts and do not restart the timer. After three wrong answers or expiry, start a new challenge from the server message.
Only one CAPTCHA may be active for the same user in the same server. Clicking again while one is active does not replace it: complete it or wait for expiry. Already verified members are told verification is complete.
Discord command
/add_verify channel:#verify logs:#verification-logs role:@VerifiedAll options are required: channel and logs are text channels; role is the assignable role. The caller needs Manage Channels and a successful vote check. Disable Verify through its dashboard toggle and confirmation.
Resolve verification problems
If no CAPTCHA arrives, allow DMs from server members and ensure SHADO5 is not blocked. If role assignment fails, check the role still exists, is below the bot and can be managed. The selected log channel must also remain valid and accessible.
A challenge may no longer complete if Verify is disabled or reconfigured while it is active. Start again from the current public message after synchronization completes. See Troubleshooting for vote and access issues.
